Our passion is to serve the impoverished, the illiterate, the minority peoples in the developing world with the gift of a writing system. Yes, you read that right. An alphabet. Reading and writing are a powerful force against poverty and oppression. We have worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators for 14 years to that end.

Tenfootfamily started out as an easy way to share pictures and stories of our kids with their grandparents across the world. It has since become an avenue for our growing partnership to walk alongside us as we follow Broken Feet.

For now, the biggest feet belong to Kent & Kim, though soon James, Joel & Anna will have larger feet than us! Our three kids born on three different continents sincerely believe it is normal to watch movies on a 10-hr flight across the world, build their own slingshots, or climb guava trees barefoot. Our journey thus far has included grief, tropical diseases, severe food allergies, asthma and ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, and international transitions.

For a look at what the five of us are doing:

at home in Eastern Congo, or in the Pacific Northwest, or in North Texas

...you are in the right place!

So grab your flip flops and walk along with our dirty, sandy, busy little feet!

 Where can I go from your Spirit?
       Where can I flee from your presence?

 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
       if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
       if I settle on the far side of the sea,
 even there your hand will guide me,
       your right hand will hold me fast.
